These totally waterproof hats have a longer rim at the back to protect your neck from drips. The front of the rim can be folded up to form a gutter. The big advantage of wearing a Sou’westerrather than the hood from a jacket is that the Sou’wester turns with your head giving excellent visability rather than staring into the back of your hood. These are the real thing. Now fitted with an elastic strap and adjustable toggle to hold it firmly in place even during a South Westerly gale.
