Batteries Voltage Equalizer balancer for li-ion or Lead Acid Battery bank formed of 2 x12 volt ‘sub batteries’ that are linked in series to form a nominal 24 volt system. Actively moves charge from highest battery to lowest battery at up to 5 amps.

Battery Balancer – for 2x 12v batteries in series
Not all batteries are created equal – there are minor manufacturing differences within every battery. When creating a series, or series/parallel, battery bank to create differing voltages and Ah ratings from individual 12Volt batteries, we can end up with a variance in terminal voltages on each battery. This causes the batteries to become unbalanced.
Correct series parallel connection of batteries can help mitigate these differences – but will not eliminate them. Certainly, the correct connection of batteries is an absolute pre-requisite for having a reliable system.
However – even the very best installation will still suffer from imbalance – and the consequence of that is an expensive bank system that can fail prematurely. This is costly, in both time and money.
The 24-volt battery equaliser is for use with lead-acid batteries, which are connected in series. It is designed to keep battery voltage across the string balance.
When two or more batteries are connected in series, during charging and discharging the battery voltages maybe become different. One battery’s voltage may be higher than the other.
The battery equalizer will equalise/balance the battery voltage when it detects there are >20mV between two batteries. It will shunt current from one battery (the higher voltage) to the other battery (the lower voltage). It will do this until the battery voltage across the batteries equalises. This will improve the batteries performance and lifetime.
The battery equalizer can be used for 24V, 36V, 48V and any other N*12V battery system.
